If we have the capability to defeat the enemies of the State – the Muslim Bandits, the MILF and the Abu Sayyaf and the New People’s Army, we ought to give this a try. As former President Joseph Estrada pointed out during his presidency, we cannot have any real progress as long as unregulated armed elements are allowed to travel to and from just about any part of this country.
Someone must be in control of the country and this has to be the government that we elected into office.
Ignoring for the moment the fact that it is arguable that Gloria Arroyo was never really elected, the fact is that she in control of the government and has been accepted by just about everyone as our actual president.
Clearly, it is foolish to talk peace with the MILF who can turn Abu Sayyaf at a moment’s notice and whose armed forces are not under the control of the ones that the government is talking to. In the same way that Jose Ma. Sison says that he does not control the New People’s Army, so too do the MILF leaders disavow any control over their armed force.
Thus, what is the point of talking to them. Both apparently have no control over the ones who actually disturb our peace. Since, there is no way that they can get these terrorists to lay down their arms, why are we even talking to them. We should just go after these armed groups.
A recent statement of Jose Ma. Sison notes: “The reactionary armed forces have been overstretched and fatigued by so many years of Oplan Bantay Laya.
“In recent months, even former GRP president Fidel V. Ramos has observed this fact.
“The concurrent military offensives of the Bangsamoro Islamic Liberation Army (BILA) and the New People’s Army have the potential of breaking the backbone of the reactionary armed forces and encouraging the reasonable elements therein to support the ouster of the fake president and serious negotiations with the MILF and NDFP.”
I honestly do not know if it is true that these two paramilitary groups could win over our armed forces but I have had disturbing talks with those who have had combat experience against these two terrorist groups who say that not only does the enemy have superior weapons, it also seems as if they have more ammunition, which are given to them by Middle East countries to help them destroy the Philippines.
Here is what Commander Bravo, one of the two commanders who started the fighting in Mindanao, has to say: ““I have nothing to do with the attacks. They were carried out by the mujahideen, who are soldiers of Allah.
“We recognize the MILF leadership, and we strictly follow the chain of command as long as this is in accordance with the teachings of the holy Koran. Otherwise, we will not follow the orders of our leaders but Allah.”
It is my firm belief that as long as people like Bravo have unlimited access to firepower, there should be no talk about suing for peace with persons like Bravo. Since we obviously cannot talk to Allah, we ought to go back to the Erap solution of taking back our territory from these bandits and terrorists.

“I sincerely believe, Dr. Leon Chua deserves a few seconds of your space and time. His achievement in science appears comparable, if not even better, than other foreign scientists, etc. He may not be a Newton, an Einstein, Edison, a Sun Tsu, and other men of great achievements in history, I sincerely believe he deserves respect and recognition for his great contribution to mankind. And he happens to be a Pinoy. If there is such thing as National Artist for Science, I strongly believe, Dr. Chua deserves it.

A reader corrects me. A fish pen or fish cage cannot be compared to a ranch. He makes the observation that in some ranches, the ratio is one animal per hectare or more. The more correct comparison is with a feedlot where the animals are forced into a small space where they can do nothing but eat. A fish cage or a fish pen does the same thing. The fish cannot go anywhere since their swimming may lessen their weight at harvest time.
In a feed lot, there are a several persons that care for the animals and clean their surroundings. They feed the animals and bathe them occasionally. In a fish pen or fish cage, no one cleans up the fish feces and urine and the uneaten food. All these go into the water.
These serve to feed microorganisms in the water that eventually destroy coral reefs and cause oxygen depletion in the waters that result in fish kills.
So, if the Energy and Environment Secretary wants to get rid of all fish pens and fish cages, we should all support Lito Atienza in this endeavor. It is for the good of us all and our environment.

Para sa walang kuwentang pamunuan ng Lansbergh Place Condominium!
MAY pananagutan ang nagmamay-ari (24KDCC)ng Lansbergh Place Condominium sa pagkawasak ng sasakyan ng kanilang tenant na nagreklamo sa BITAG.
Ito ay ayon sa inspeksiyon na isinagawa ng Quezon City Engineering Office sa kanilang gusali nitong May 14, matapos mabagsakan ng makapal na tibag ng bato mula sa kanilang gusali ang sasakyan ng nagrereklamong tenant.
Halos ma-total wreck ang sasakyan dahil sa pagkaka-yupi ng bubungan at katawan ng likurang bahagi nito. Paano kaya kung tao ang nabagsakan nito, siguradong hindi ito makakaligtas sa kalawit ni kamatayan.
Tatlong araw ng nakabalandra ang nawasak na sasakyan sa harap ng Lansbergh Place Condominium, walang pakialam ang namamahala (24KDCC) ng nasabing gusali dahil kung hindi pa nanghimasok ang BITAG, hindi pa nila tatanggalin ito.
Kaya nga rin nagreklamo ang kanilang tenant sa amin dahil hindi humaharap ang kolokoy na pamunuan (24KDCC) ng Lansbergh para kausapin ang mga ito hinggil sa pangyayari.
Ayon sa nagrereklamo, tanging sagot lamang sa kanila ng building administrator ng Lansbergh na si Socorro Layaoen(24KDCC), aksidente lamang daw ang nangyari at wala silang pananagutan sa pagkawasak ng sasakyan nito.
Hindi pinapasok ang BITAG team sa opisina ng building administrator, tanging ang inspektor lamang daw at ang tenant na nagrereklamo ang pupuwedeng umakyat sa kanilang opisina.
Sorry na lang sa katangahan nila dahil nagawang pu masok ng isang BITAG undercover bitbit ang aming concealed camera. Gusto naming siguraduhing TAMA ang mga pag-uusapan sa kanilang opisina.
Sa naidokumento ng aming concealed camera habang kausap ng inspektor ng Quezon City Engineering’s Office ang kolokay na si Layaoen(24KDCC), nagmamagaling pa ang nabanggit na building administrator.
Imbes na humingi ng pasensiya at magpaliwanag ng maayos sa kanilang tenant na nagrereklamo dahil sa pangyayari, nakikipagpalakasan pa ito ng boses at nakikipag-unahan pang mangatwiran ng 24KDCC.
Kung hindi ba naman talaga hinayupak ang building administrator na ito, sukat baluktot itong nangatwiran sa kanilang tenant at sa inspektor na isang inhinyero ng Quezon City na “never ho namin sinabi na malaglag ‘yan”.
Socorro Layaoen(24KDCC), subukan mong sabihin ‘yan sa harapan ko, kung bastos kang makiharap sa mga kausap mo, huwag na huwag sa BITAG.
Ibabalik ko sa’yo ang lengguwaheng sinasalita mo at sinisigurado ko sa’yo, hindi mo magugustuhan ito.
Sa inisyal na resulta ng inspeksiyong isinagawa ng Quezon City Engineering’s Office sa inyong mapanganib na gusali, ang Lansbergh Place Condominium, “may pananagutan” daw kayo, para sa inyong kaalaman.
Itinuturo ang pagkukulang sa inyo daw inhinyero at arkitektong gumawa ng inyong gusali, dahil dapat hindi lamang binabalutan ng makapal na semento ang palitada ng anumang building.
Dapat daw ay may mga bakal na nakasuporta dito.
Baka hindi niyo pa ito alam, BITAG na ang nagsasabi sa inyo. Kung nanood kayo ng segment namin noong Sabado,matututo kayo.
Umaasa ang BITAG na magiging patas at pawang katotohanan ang magiging resulta ng final investigation ng Quezon City Engineering’s Office sa problemang ito.
Nakakakilabot lamang na kapag naulit ang ganitong pangyayari at nagkataong tao na ang nabagsakan ng mga nalaglag na palitada ng Lansbergh Place Condominium, e hindi na naman kumibo ang walang ku wentang pamunuan ng gusali.
Patuloy na nakatutok ang BITAG sa kasong ito.
